Samsung, known for making some great, budget-friendly Android tablets, has just launched a new version of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, now updated for 2024. This new model follows the original S6 Lite from 2020 and its first update in 2022. Despite speculation that Samsung might change the name, they’ve stuck with the familiar “S6 Lite” for this latest version, introducing it as the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024).
This new tablet appeared on Samsung’s Romanian website this week, available in a fresh Mint color and both Wi-Fi and LTE versions. Although the price isn’t listed yet, the website shows what the tablet looks like and its specs.
The 2024 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite keeps a similar design to its predecessors but adds a new color option. It’s powered by a newer, though not specifically named, processor. Based on the details given, it seems to be the Exynos 1280 chip.
Most of the tablet’s features haven’t changed much. It has a 10.4-inch screen with a 2000 x 1200 resolution, an 8MP camera on the back for videos and photos, and a 5MP front camera. There’s also a headphone jack and a slot for a microSD card to add more storage.
The battery remains the same size as before, at 7,040mAh, with the ability to charge at 15W. The S Pen, a stylus for drawing and writing on the screen, is still included. This model runs the newest version of Samsung’s software, One UI 6.1, but it might not be able to use some of Samsung’s advanced features because of the type of processor it has. And while the processor could technically handle 5G, the tablet is only set up for LTE, which is a bit slower for internet connections.
