Owners of the Apple Vision Pro, known for its advanced eye-tracking and hand gesture capabilities, now have expanded options for gaming controllers. 8BitDo, a leading accessory manufacturer, has recently announced that several of its controllers are now compatible with the Vision Pro, providing a more traditional gaming experience for users.
Apple officially supports these controllers, ensuring seamless connectivity and functionality via Bluetooth—without any complications. Among the eight devices receiving Apple’s approval is 8BitDo’s Ultimate Bluetooth Controller, widely acclaimed as an exceptional gamepad for PC gaming.
The lineup of compatible controllers includes various models of the SN30 Pro, as well as the Lite 2 and the retro NES-inspired N30 Pro 2. Beyond game controllers, 8BitDo has also extended Vision Pro compatibility to its Retro Mechanical Keyboard, although the Vision Pro already supports most Bluetooth keyboards.
This expansion is significant for Vision Pro, primarily known for its media consumption prowess. With this update, users can enjoy virtually any iPad game on a larger virtual screen through the headset, enhancing the gaming experience significantly. Moreover, the Vision Pro is compatible with major gaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now, allowing access to a range of AAA titles.
Previously, 8BitDo had announced official controller support for other Apple devices, including smartphones, tablets, and Mac computers. This was facilitated by new controller firmware updates and Apple’s iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, tvOS 16.3, and macOS 13.2 updates, ensuring broad compatibility across Apple’s ecosystem.
With these developments, Apple Vision Pro users can now leverage their devices for an enriched gaming experience, bridging the gap between traditional gaming and innovative virtual interface technology.
