Fans of the paranormal horror game Phasmophobia are in for a treat as the popular title is set to launch on Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 5, and PSVR 2 in August 2023.
The news, eagerly awaited by Xbox and PlayStation owners, was revealed during Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase Extended stream. Kinect Games, the British indie studio behind Phasmophobia, unveiled a trailer showcasing the various tools and equipment players will use to hunt ghosts on the console versions of the game. Notably, players will have the opportunity to hunt 24 different types of ghosts across 10 locations.
Phasmophobia’s arrival on consoles comes with an added bonus: the inclusion of optional crossplay support. This feature will allow friends playing on consoles and PCs to team up in a four-player cooperative mode, uniting their screams when a ghost decides to whisper in their ears.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this release for some will be the support for PlayStation’s Virtual Reality system, PSVR 2. Those who have experienced Phasmophobia in VR know that it’s not a game for the faint of heart. The game’s jump scares feel especially real in VR, making this addition a thrilling prospect for PSVR 2 users.
Fans can look forward to the “early access” launch of Phasmophobia on Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 5, and PSVR 2 in August 2023.
